Privacy policy
The short version
- We keep what you give us to run the app: your email, your profile, the sessions you join, your messages.
- Your location never leaves your phone. We use it on the device to sort sessions by distance, and only after you've allowed it.
- Other members see your profile. They never see your birthdate, your notification settings or your device's push token.
- No ads, no trackers, no analytics companies.
- Delete your account in the app and it is removed from our database straight away. A session other people had joined is handed on rather than deleted — section 8 lists what stays.
1. Who we are
Sweatch is an independent app, run from Lebanon for people playing in Lebanon. We are responsible for your data. Write to support@sweatch.app.
2. What we collect, and why

3. Your location
The app asks for your location only at the moment distance first matters — when you tap "Near me" or a distance filter. It uses it on your phone to sort sessions by how far away they are. It is not sent to us and not stored anywhere. Once you've allowed it, the app reads it again each time it opens, for the same purpose. If you say no, you can pick an area instead.
The map pin and directions for a session are shown only once you've joined it. Before that the map shows the area. The venue's name and address are visible to every member.
4. Who can see what
Only people signed in to Sweatch can see your profile. They see your name, username, photo, bio, city, gender, level, reliability word, activities and usual times. They also see the sessions you've posted or joined: the activity, the time, the venue's name and address, and who else is in. They do not see your date of birth, your email, your notification settings, your device token, or whether you've paused your account.
If you mark your profile private, people you haven't shared a session with don't see your activities, levels, usual times or recent sessions on your profile page. Your name, username, city, photo and bio stay visible, you still appear in search with your activities, and you still appear in the player list of any session you join.
5. Where it's kept
Your data is stored with Supabase, our database and file hosting provider, in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union). Photos you upload are stored there too. We read the data from Lebanon to run the service.
A photo lives at a long web address that works without signing in; anyone who has that address can open it. Photos, including ones you've replaced, stay there until you delete your account.
6. Other companies involved
- Apple. If you sign in with Apple, Apple gives us a sign-in token and, if you choose to share them, your name and email. If you turn on notifications, Apple delivers them to your phone. Maps in the app are Apple Maps; Apple receives the area of the map being shown, not your location.
- Supabase hosts the database, sign-in and photos (above). It handles your data only to run the app for us.
- Resend delivers the email with your sign-in code. It sees your email address and that message, nothing else.
- GitHub hosts this website (sweatch.app). Like any web host, it logs the IP address of anyone who opens these pages. Nothing from the app goes to GitHub.
- Email. If you write to support@ or safety@sweatch.app, your message passes through an email forwarding service (ImprovMX) to a Gmail inbox (Google) that only the person who runs Sweatch reads.
We only work with providers that protect your data at least as well as this policy does. No advertising networks, no analytics or tracking companies, nothing sold or shared for marketing.
7. How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. A message you set to disappear stops showing in the conversation after 24 hours. It is not yet erased from our database; it goes when you delete your account. The same goes for a message you delete in a session chat: it shows as "Message deleted", but its text stays in our database until you delete your account. Direct messages can't be deleted one by one yet. When you delete your account, it is removed straight away (next section).
8. Deleting your account
Settings → Account & security → Delete account. It happens immediately, in the app, and removes your account, profile, photos, activities, sessions, messages, direct messages, reactions, blocks, reports and settings. A session you were hosting that other people had already joined is handed to the person who joined first, so their plans survive, and the session's chat tells the others that the previous host deleted their account; a session with nobody else in it is deleted with you. A session you hand over keeps its details, including the note and cost line you wrote. A notification someone else already received about you — that you joined their session, say — stays in their list.
Copies in our hosting provider's routine backups and logs expire on their own schedule. If you signed in with Apple, also remove Sweatch in iPhone Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple (on older versions it sits under Sign-In & Security); we can't do that for you yet.
"Take a break" is different: it hides your profile from other members until the next time you sign in. Sessions you host or have joined stay listed, shown without your name or photo. Nothing is deleted.
9. Blocking and reporting
When you block someone, the app stops showing you to each other — profiles, search, direct messages both ways, reactions, each other's messages in a shared session, and sessions the other person is in. In a session you had both already joined, you still appear in each other's player list. We don't notify them, though they may notice you've gone.
When you report someone in the app, the reason you pick is saved for Sweatch to review, until your account or theirs is deleted. You can also email safety@sweatch.app.
10. Age
Sweatch is for adults, 18 and over. We don't verify ages; if we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we remove it. If you think someone under 18 is on Sweatch, tell us at safety@sweatch.app.
11. Your rights
You can see and edit your profile in the app, and delete your account there. For anything else — a copy of everything we hold about you, a correction, a question, a complaint — email support@sweatch.app.
You can turn off location, notifications, camera or photos for Sweatch in iPhone Settings at any time; the app keeps working. If you can't use the app, email support@sweatch.app from your account's address and we'll delete your account within 30 days. If you live in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
12. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app before it applies. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
